Timothy Knapman
Timothy Knapman is a musical bookwriter, lyricist, playwright and children’s author. Musical Theatre includes: with Laurence Mark Wythe, Danny Hero (Perfect Pitch), Midnight (Aloff Theatre) and the family musical Growl!; with Stuart Matthew Price, Before After (UK and Japan) and Imaginary (NYMT); A Christmas Carol (Creation Theatre); Gilbert and Sullivan: All At Sixes and Sevens (King’s Head); Hamlet! The Musical (Royal & Derngate, Richmond Theatre); also numerous translations and adaptations of operas and madrigal comedies for I Fagiolini, Handmade Opera, La Nuova Musica and many others: work performed at BBC Proms, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Lufthansa Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Dartington Summer School, on BBC Radio 3 and across the world (winner 2016 Art Music Award in Australia). Plays include: The Stag King (Edinburgh); The Smallest Person (Trestle Theatre, national tour). More than 50 children’s books include: Dinosaurs in the Supermarket; Sir Dancealot; Mungo and the Picture Book Pirates; Time Now To Dream and Soon.
