Sarah Henley
Sarah has been writing for the theatre since 2009 and has had numerous shows produced. She has written her own plays, worked collaboratively with theatre companies on new work and written the book for three pieces of new musical theatre. Sarah also directs and loves working with actors in the rehearsal room.
Sarah is currently writing “The Unblinding”, a new musical with music and lyrics by James Fox. The first phase of development was produced by Time Won’t Wait and funded by the Arts Council and the project was shortlisted for a Kevin Spacey Foundation ‘Artists of Choice’ Award.
Other new musicals include “Streets” for Interval Productions, produced at the Cockpit Theatre in 2013 where it received two Off West End Award nominations, and for a short run at The Vaults in 2015; “Another Way” which features the songs of Benedict and was produced at the Cockpit Theatre in 2013 where it received three Off West End Award nominations; “From Where I’m Standing” for Delirium Theatre Company which previewed at the Pegasus Theatre in Oxford prior to a run at the Underbelly in Edinburgh; “Muted” featuring the songs of Tim Prottey-Jones nominated by WhatsOnStage for Best New Musical in 2012 and will be the first musical to be produced at the new venue The Bunker in December 2016.
Additionally, Sarah is a co-founder and director of ComComedy Ltd and is also an NLP Master Practitioner, Trainer and Coach. She regularly runs workshops for performers combining NLP with performing and is an Artist Trainer at Time Won’t Wait.
Sarah loves workshops, young people, comedy, theatre and all the things that go with it.
